I dont understand why people can nevertheless say that people with tattoos are poor people. Or how people nevertheless say that tattoos are unpleasant. Particular, some are unpleasant and sensless, but putting down people that have their childrens names or their deceased cherished ones, or some thing that they adore or represents them is really immature and unnacepting. Just buck up and consider it. Tattoos are a way of existence for alot of people now. Till you get 1, theres really absolutely nothing you can say to criticise them. So make sure you, explain to me. How are inked people so poor? Give me a great cause.
I have a star on my wrist, and im quickly acquiring a band of stars about it with the title Shilynne in the center. it is a tribute tattoo for my great buddy who just died. It seems great, and I can guarentee that I will by no means regret it.

I got a tattoo when I was 16 (I’m 22 now) and I just think they’re a bad idea. I completely regret mine because it’s visible with a lot of clothing and when you hold a professional job it’s important to not look trashy with tattoos all over. Plus I just don’t think they’re very attractive on anyone, especially when you get older, have kids, and your skin starts to sag!

people who have tatoos are not bad because they get tatoos
I have a tatoo and i’m 49 and my daughter has 3…they are really nice tatoos nothing vulger..they are pleasent to look at…I think you can get too many tatoos..I don’t think you should fill your whole body or most of it with tatoos..because then you lose the real you and it looks tacky…but thats just how I feel about them I love mine…makes me feel **** and younger..I would love to have one on my ankle.. maybe I will one day

Nothing is wrong with tattoos or the people who get them. I personally oppose them…. because the female form needs no supplements, and a tattoo or even certain piercings move the attention from your pretty form to the ink or jewelry. That’s just me, and my opinion together with $4 will get you a coffee at Starbucks. Same with others.

As a fellow inker I love my tattoo! I have a small rose on my chest over my heart. I am not a bad person,or a biker or any or the other stereotyped people that you think of that have tats! I am an ex model a mother of 3 and happily married. I drive a jeep wrangler and I am a quiet person. People that think all people that have tats are bad are just narrow minded and ignorant! If you don’t like tats then don’t get one.Everyone is entitled to their opinions.but lets not be dictatorial about it. I also plan on getting a playboy bunny head on my **** and a triquattra on my ankle.

Some people are mind set against ink altogether. I am a 32 year old married mother of 2 young kids-My skin is not sagging, and no one thinks anything bad about me. My husband for example… He is 75% covered in tattoo’s. He is a paramedic, He has been doing his job for more than 20 years now, no one has ever said anything negative about his ink. My husband has been employee of the month more than several times, he has had countless promotions as well. He is also an instructor.

Whats the big deal?? Some people have chosen to use their body as a canvas. Tattoo’s are art, in a sense. I know people from school teachers to accountants, to doctors that have tattoo’s. A lot of people, like I said are mind set against them, because they associate tattoo’s with being trashy, dangerous, scary people. Think again people. As far as the lady that replied to this question 1st….You should not be getting tattoo’s at the age of 16 in the first place. Mentally you are not grown up enough to make choices that will effect you for the remainder of your life, and you chose to get an illegal tattoo at the age of 16, that you don’t like. Get over it. Have it removed.

i think it’s because christianity says you shouldn’t pierce or tattoo yourself. obviously doesn’t say just that but in some biblical way it does! Anyway yeah so strong christians are generally opposed and it’s a big religion so you can see why many people would be against it! Personnally i think people have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies!

We’re so bad because we want people to be happy, be themselves, express themselves as they wish; we judge people based on their actions and who they are, not what they look like.

Revolutionary thoughts, those. Who can say what would happen if more people acted like that?

Seriously, I do think it’s okay to (constructively) criticize tattoos and piercings, regardless of whether you have them or not. I’m uncomfortable with completely keeping out those who aren’t themselves inked/pierced, although I would request that they recognize their lack of personal empirical evidence and potential biases. Sadly, a number cannot meet this criteria, and arguably a lot don’t, but I don’t want to keep out the few reasonable folks.

Side note addressing some of the other answers:

Jenny84′s experience is why the regulars say wait until 18 – at least. Too many people are in a rush to something that deserves thought; think before you ink. It’s unfortunate that she’s so down on this, based on a bad experience (choice? I’d assume it was something she wanted at the time). It’s kind of like being down on marriage because you got married on your 18th birthday & later divorced.

The biblical issue has been covered a lot. The origin of the comment, OT as I think it was (and therefore not actually Christian, but still biblical), was due to competition from others religions. A number had body mods, so it was easier to mark your enemy as one who had these mods. That has survived to this day in a modified form, but aside from saying “it’s a sin” or related I don’t see any logic to the argument beyond a “because the bible tells us” or someone’s belief of what God wants.

I forget, is saying that you know the mind of God a sin? Or is it just considered a bad idea to believe so?

That is thier mindset. They think one thing, close thier mind to the rest of the possibilities out there and that is all they accept. I enjoy the few things I have gotten done, but if I say overly religious, I probably wouldn’t have gotten them. Or if I saw one done quite poorly, or maybe one that got infected and was ruined. I mean there are reasns why people can dislike and **** tatts and piercings. But you have to keep in mind that some people are just morons who live one sort of life, and if you don’t live that way, your in the wrong.

But can I ask a question?

Why does it matter what they think? It is your life, your choices. they have no influance, or input in your life unless you allow them to. so be happy and do as you please, if you don’t worry about it… don’t let them make you worry about it.

There is no good reason, most tattoo haters are usually people over 30 who still have the stereotype of the biker/ convict/ troublemaker who has tattoos everywhere, and they think all tattooed people are like that.
