If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for going to!
I have discover that this generation is very short-sighted they don't appear to be conscious that this fad is long term.and as time go by these physique painting are going to appear like unpleasant ink stains. As for the women that put tatoos correct above the ***** of their buttocks, I believe they are called tramp stamps. a small guidance to you women, no good guy have any respect for a lady with a tramp stamp. So if you want to finish up with the dregs of society when it comes to males, keep branding yourselfs.
I knew I would get this response from a lot of tatooers I quess no desires to be told they made silly decisions unfortunately numerous in society appear at you this way whether you believe it is correct or not I also appear at the physique perciers, the gold toothers and the individuals with purple hair as dip sh**t individuals that can't see previous tomorrow.
I really touched a nerve didn't I. Well I don't say issues that are political correct or mince words, to these that say it is been about for 1000's of years so what,? we have cultures that put large plates in their lips and cultures that put metal rings about their necks until it is unable to support their heads natrually, dumb is dumb.
Guy this is amazing appears like you tatooers don,t like to be criticize for your choice lighten up it is just my opinion. Just a food for believed if this was such an intelligent choice why do most of the thugs, criminals and prison inmates have them.

Wow. Your Exhibit A in the trial against haters. Do you realize how low class and crass your words are? You think that people with tats are the dregs of society? I challenge that statement and counter with the idea that it is YOU and your kind that is the dregs of society. People that go around calling women tramps and in general putting down a percentage of good people like me and my friends is what is wrong with this country to be honest.
btw SOMEBODY’S ANSWER BELOW IS THE BEST DAMN ANSWER EVER. ROCK ON BABY.

Self Expression.

Look, Peanut, something that has been done for thousands of years can hardly be called a fad.
Most of us are well aware of what our tattoos will look like as they age, and as far as your opinion of what a “decent man” is, it’s moot. I’m married to a kind, decent, smart, funny, loving man, who is a tattoo artist. Better than an uptight, self-righteous prig any day.

I think it’s a form of expression. I have friends with tattoos and my bf has one. I have seriously considered doing it, but cannot decide on something I would want for the rest of my life. I also think about how I will show it off and explain it when I have kids…..
Another aspect that worries me is that I know when I get older, 60′s and 70′s, how will it look? Just some things I have pondered.
I think it’s great that people express themselves and I think it’s totally a personal choice/preference… I don’t think it’s anything to criticize…. each to their own.

Wow, you are so stereotypical that it is not even funny. You should grow up. Some people do get stupid tattoos, but it’s not all like that. I have tattoos, and they are all very meaningful. You should grow up.

because that’s what they wanted to do

you are a horribly degrading person. most people i know get tattoos with meaning and value, when you go to a tattoo parlor you have to take to the artist about what you want and why and they usually make you get and appointment and come back so you will have time to think about it for a while. I got a tattoo of a sunflower on my upper back because i wanted something to remember my grandmother, it was her favorite flower. I know its permanent and i LOVE IT!!! and what makes you think that at 50 years old you have any idea what the young, decent men of today want? if they are decent they will look at the woman for who she is on the inside, i mean you aren’t supposed to judge who you date on weather they have a big nose or are too fat so why should you judge a person based on their tattoo. and unless she is in a bathing suit or belly shirt (which by the way are not fashionable with my generation!) what the hell is he doing looking at her *** *****? and if you meant decent men of your age you have got to be kidding your self, no self-respecting, intelligent young woman is going to marry someone your age and if she does then yep your right shes a tramp! and as for your labeling if you would just do a little research, go to google and type in tramp stamp, you will find that many people are annoyed at this labeling, by a minority or people, who feel that having a tattoo on your lower back is not Representative or being a tramp but a personal expression.

amen to dat girl above, and can someone just report this question as abuse b4 i lose my mind…

thank you for your idiotic narrowmindedness. it’s not really welcome here but whatever.
i don’t know what you consider to be a “fad” but an art form that has been around for literally thousands of years doesn’t really seem like a “fad” so much as something that is here to stay. why not say that cars are just a “fad” or computers… they haven’t been around for THAT long and they break down and need repairs… who wants to deal with that? right? that fad won’t last at all. (sarcasm)
and obviously you aren’t very well informed about the way ink ages. it is absolutely possible to have beautiful fresh looking tattoos for years if you care for them properly and keep them out of the sun. serious collectors take every precaution to protect their ink. i have seen people that have had tattoos for 30+ years that look great still.
the only thing i’m going to say about your “tramp stamp” remark is that you are a big giant moron if you think that a girl can magically turn into a tramp when she gets a lower back tattoo. that is just ridiculous.
i take offense at the fact that you are saying that my husband isn’t a decent man and a “dreg of society”. he is a firefighter and a paramedic so one day when your house is on fire or when you wreck your “fad” car. him, or someone like him will be there to put their life in harms way to save you. sounds pretty noble and decent to me.

They are doing it because everybody else is– all the beloved sports stars, rappers, actors and actresses, etc.
The big difference is those people have money to throw away that they will never miss, and the sheep have little money but are more than willing to part with it.
When the time comes to pay for something really important, they will see that they can’t pawn the tattoos.
Plus, has anybody ever seen what tattoos look like on ageing skin?? Tattoos start to look like a picture on a deflated balloon, which is why I usually wind up laughing at the tattooed crowd. They think they look so cool now, but just wait..
Regarding “Making a Statement”– what IS the statement that everyone is trying so hard to make???

Everyone gets tattoo’s for different reason. Many to remember someone that died others because they see their body as a blank canvas. At the end of the day as long as their of legal age it’s their body and they have the right to do with it what they want.

I believe that people think that they are cool if they cover their bodies in tattoos. Or they plan on getting themselves arrested so they can rescue their brother from death-row. lol A little spoof on T.V. there.

O MAN i had to respond to this one. first of all, you talking about “this generation” people have been tattooing themselfs for 100s of years. it is our personal opinion that we have tattoos. it shows our creativity and it is our form of expression. as for the “tramp stamp” that you use so stupidy, how dare YOU tell ME that my husband it not decent. he is the most decent man i have ever met and BY FAR exceeds your decency. you are coming on here, not only offending those with tattoos, that have nothing to do with you, but you are also telling us that our men arent decent. i believe you need to get a hobby of your own and i dont think you should come back on this board. oh and by the way i have a beautiful cross and 2 sparrows about my “buttocks” and did that because it is my way of expressing my love for my lord and savior. if that makes me a tramp then f**in let me be one.
i just read your additional details, and i think you owe everyone that you have offended on here about thier men an apology. you went WAY out of line.
i cant wait till blair sees this, man im so fired up!!!!!

I live day to day and while I have thought about the future, I’d rather spend it looking back on awesome times than to be a boring old **** with nothing to say except for “I wished I had lived more”. I was very aware that my tattoos would be there forever, which is why I chose them VERY carefully
Most people I know with tattoos, piercings and other mods live very normal, fulfilling lives and have plenty of friends and family who love them. People like you, who have narrow minded and shallow opinions aren’t valued and are looked down upon more than those with mods. I would say that you are a horrible person and the dreg to society. My man is more of a human than you could ever be.
Your opinion is yours and yours alone. I’m sure there are people who side with you, but you won’t be able to sway the tattoo lovers in this forum. Everyone is right in their own mind.

Getting tattoos for me are a form of expression of what is going on in my life. My first one represented my split with my husband, to remind me of my inner strength. My second one is my astrological sign, and the third represents my gramma’s death. They all mean a great deal to me. Tattoos are not “fads”… they have been around for many many years and they are going to be around for many more years to come. I also have a tattoo on my lower back, BECAUSE I LIKE IT THERE. It doesn’t mean that I am a tramp. Anyone who calls it a “tramp stamp” is childish and ignorant. Many women have a tattoo on their lower backs, and I think they look nice there. Who cares what other people think…everyone is entitled to their own opinions. What a person decides to put on their bodies is their own business, and whoever has no respect for the tattoos that are “tramp stamps”, aren’t worth the time of day. If a man can’t respect me for who I am, then he is not worth it.

Wow! I got my tattoo because I wanted it and I really do not give a rats @ss what people LIKE YOU have to say. If you don’t like them, don’t go get one. It is that simple! Do not try to make us feel stupid or crazy for having them. I did not know that there were still simple minded people like you. Keep living your miserable life while the rest of us live and have some fun!
Also, Tramp stamp? It is men like you that will end up alone because you will only love a woman that “meets your standards” and not for who she is. Thank God not every man is like you! When I told my hubby I wanted to get my first tattoo he was 100% behind me. Just told me to make sure it was what I wanted and to find a good artist(which if you’re ever in Syracuse, NY go to Halo Tattoos!). A tattoo on the lower back does not a tramp make!

Man, you are the most judgemental jerk I have seen on here. You have no right telling anyone that they are “the dregs of society” for making a decision that is theirs alone to make !Why is it any concern to you what someone’s tattoo will look like when they are old ?It doesn’t affect you one bit.As for your comment that “no decent guy has any respect for a woman with a tramp stamp” , for the record, any DECENT GUY will love a woman for what’s on the inside foremost and what’s on the outside comes in second !You sound like a shallow, sterotyping ,closed-minded fool.Tattoos are not a fad, and you are so wrong to judge other’s actions based on what you think is right !Why don’t you go live your life the way you want , and leave others to do the same without making their decisions your business?

i am a devoted christain woman who is a well respected privite nursing compainion. i work with many mennonite familys. and i make lots of money. i’m getting married to a very intelliget man with a degree in history and is part of the historical society in the town we live in. he is in grad school and has won several awards for his work in AAA movie production. as well as many other projects. i don’t think it is fair to judge me. i have tattos and so does he. they are very important to us. as for my “tramp stamp”, i found a wonderful man that has a genius iq level. keep your opinions to your self. didn’t your mother tell you if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. if you don’t like it don’t get one but leave me out of you bigittry!

What I want to know is why do you care? What does it matter to you what someone does with there OWN body and there OWN skin? It doesnt hurt you in any way so dont worry about it. You dont like them fine!! But dont talk down to people who do!!!! Tattoos are an art form and they are beautiful!!! No one cares what you think of them so just keep your mouth shut and mind your own bussiness, we all have our own opinions, and some should be kept to ourselves!!

I have a tattoo at my lower back, what you call a tramp stamp, and let me tell you something, I’m no tramp. I am married to a good man who respects me, and I am not in the dregs of society. I have a total of eight tattoos and I’m probably not done yet. As to what your kind of society thinks about me and other people with their eternal body art, you can keep your opinion to yourself. Every one of my tattoos mean something special to me and were not done on a fad trend.

it depends on the tattoo that you get. I got one on my 18th birthday, not because i wanted to “fit in” or draw attention to myself, I did it for personal reasons. My tat is a heart with wings and my fiance’s name in the middle of a banner. i did it because we love eachother very much and have been making plans for years to raise a family and grow old with eachother. However, keeping our relationship is very hard right now, we are going into college and our parents dont like the fact that we date. We’re taking a break from eachother so we can focus on ourselves, in a few months we’re getting back together. the tatoo that i have represents our love. To me, having the name on my back shows the my fiance will always be with me (because its in my flesh) whether we live our dream and grow old together or find someone new, i’ll always have my lover with me.
To me tattoos aren’t just a blob of useless ink, its a symbol, a meaning, its a part of you.

Everyone I know with a tat fully realizes that they are very permanent, and for the most part, they put a lot of thought into them. i don’t know if there are necessarily more people with them, I think people are more open about them. Shows like Miami Ink have brought them into the spotlight. They’re hot right now.
Also, have you ever heard the saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”? You could be missing out on the most amazing people because you made a snap judgement because they have tattoos. Open your mind. People with tattoos aren’t harming you in any way, so why do you judge them so harshly?
