It means that they are in a secret group of female ninjas that conspire against you and only you. They try to think of ways to make your life a living hell. The male equivalent is the mom tattoo on the buff dudes. These people are a group of men who try to make your life a living hell.

I don’t know maybe a dragon? When I was younger I really liked butterflies because to me they represent beauty and transformation (from a caterpillar to a butterfly). In various cultures the symbol of a butterfly is actually not pleasant. In Japan, a butterfly represents a Geisha. Also the song Mariposa Traicionera by Mana gives a really bad meaning to females as butterflies.

You’d have to ask that person. Many times they mean absolutely nothing but ‘butterflies are pretty’.
Sometimes they might mean more.

There’s no giant male to female tattoo translation book. I guess you could say a spider kind of matches – another bug, but more ‘macho’.

I have a butterfly tattoo, and the reason for getting it is simply that I liked it.

It’s an interesting question, but the truth is… it’s a popular design that women like, more than anything else. Kinda like faries or dolphins. They’re just pretty, and women go for that kinda stuff. It’s kinda like guys having skulls and dragons. Those are popular masculine tattoos worn almost exclusivly by men. The television shows/soap operas would have you belive otherwise, but most people just get what they like. That’s the real truth of it, in most cases. But because of TV shows, everyone is looking for ‘hidden meaning’. Go figure.
