I don't think there is a "to many tattoos" as it is relational to what you want to do with the art work/self expression. Like you I strategically place the tattoos where they can only be viewed when I want people to view them as I also understand that some people have (like one of the above answers) a bias against them. They view the tattoos and go oh he/she is this type of person and don't realize what we as individuals are about. Everyone has their own reasons for getting what tattoos they have, and for most people they have a special meaning etc. So I guess what I am saying is you really need to find your own answer.
